We have both new and secondhand books for sale in our tearoom and a larger monthy secondhand book sale.

We stock new copies of Gaskell’s work, books about Elizabeth Gaskell and publications of the Gaskell Society.

As well as literature we also currently have excellent art and architecture books, walking and topography, history, craft and DIY books and a large number of OS maps. 

On the second Sunday of the month we bring out additional stock for our monthly book sale in the Servants Hall. Come for a browse and a brew in our Tea Room!

All proceeds support Elizabeth Gaskell's House.

Donations of good quality books are very welcome but please call in advance to let us know you are coming. We are particularly in need of classics and contemporary fiction in good condition!
